CASE 1: CORNEAL ULCER
Toby, a 24 year old Quarter Horse gelding was diagnosed with Equine Recurrent Uveitis several years ago. Just recently, he was treated for a corneal ulcer. With treatment, the ulcer resolved in 15 days, leaving a permanent scar on the cornea.
An injury to the eye should always be considered a medical emergency as the situation can deteriorate quickly. With proper and immediate care, a corneal ulcer can be resolved.
